Christmas Eve

HI---
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE

Here in the winter wonderland of Michigan there is NO dreaming of a white xmas. We have it in full and very deep force. The husband-person did that snow blowing thingy three times yesterday and already once this morning. I think he just likes playing with the motor toy. You know that "the only difference between men and boys are the price of their toys!!!"-- MEN.

I am one of those women that just knows the only reason I have a kitchen in my house is because it came with the house (couldn't explain to the builder that this was not a room that was needed) so when I talk about that eight letter work (cooking) the earth kinda sifts to one side.
I am a sucker for little kids and fundraisers. Something I would never buy in a store I will buy five of from the kids next door (could be those big brown eyes). Anyway, a few week ago they were selling frozen coffeecakes. You get them (keep them frozen until ready to use)--get them out the night before you want to eat them, set them on the counter (if you have a kitchen) and when you wake up it have doubled in size, put in oven and 25 mins. later--warm baked flaky fruit coffeecake. This was heaven in a dish. Picture: me sitting the the counter with arms rapped around the coffeecake so the husband-person (the one outside in -9 wind chill snowblowing) couldn't eat my coffeecake. OK OK I did share but not happy about it.

Now the catch is that they only do fundraising so the reason I'm telling you this is that in case you are looking for a fundraiser for you school etc. this would be a good one. They were $10 each I got 3 and next year the husband-person wants 10 (ya, that's going the happen). I did a "look-up" and I might be able (after the holidays) to order some from the local dealer. Anyway the
website is : www.butterbraid.com

With my precious granddaughter in Washington (along with the wonderful daughter and son-in-law) we will be alone for xmas so going to sit and watch mind numbing TV and x-count. After years of hosting 20 plus family members for the holidays this seems kinda nice.

Have a warm-white and Merry Christmas
Dianne

Snow !!!!&^%$

Well now----did I say I lived in Michigan, did I explain that "lake effect" snow thing??? Went to bed at midnight got up at 6:45 am to a winter wonderland--great just great !!! There is 14 in.
of snow, it is STILL snowing and we are being told that we should expect ANOTHER 6 - 12 in.
before it stops. Of course, that is just today. On Friday night-same thing and on Monday night same old same old. The husband-person is snowblowing because he says if he waits until it stops snowing it will be to deep to snowblow. MY humble thought was so wait inside (warm, dry, TV working) for spring and let it melt. But we all know that men are from a very different world.

So at this time, I (warm and dry) am checking email, blogs (thank my darling daughter) and will start to cross-stitch (under a nice warm blanket) !!

I do feel sorry for that folks that arn't done xmas shopping and need to get out in this weather.
And the people that have to go to work. I am lucky to not be working (that retirement thing).
Bad thing is that I have this wall-to-wall huband (in english that means HE is also retired)
I think he needs a parttime job--HE thinks he's just fine. Guess who is right !!!!!

Have snowy but warm day.

This will be the very first time I "post". Not sure if I can figure this out but my wonderful
daughter who blogs, writes and does so many great things says in her outside voice "YOU
CAN DO THIS" so here goes.

I live in the snow covered state of Michigan. We have a wonderful son-in-law and daughter living in the sate of Washington. And with them lives the star in our world--granddaughter,
Emi Victoria. Emi is the delight of my world. I talk to Kimberly daily (thanks-Alltel and
Skype) and whenever I hear her babbling in the background my heart smiles.

I am a cross-stitcher. I have stitched for more years than I want (choose) to count. I
taught my daughter to stitch (also more years ago than I should count) and together we
have had many happy times stitching, talking and traveling centered around our hobby/
passion.

I hope to put pics on this eventually (daughter says I can master that to!!!!!). But for
today, this is a practice thing.

First try

I just found this-my first try to blog and while I have since learned how to blog there are these thoughts in this blog that came start from my heart and I would like people to see them so going to post this and hope that you understand that this was a very first try.

We set up our Xmas tree yesterday and while is seems so early I just looked at the calender and realized that Xmas is three weeks from today. Now, just how did that happen. So I have to get my box ready to mail to my daughter, her very nice husband and my darling granddaughter.

Emi--how do you explain the light in the very room that you are in. All grandchildren are the light of a grandparents life but Emi is so special. She was much wanted and waited for by my daughter, Kimberly. The trip to adopt Emi had so many ups and downs that I give my daughter so many love-pats for her patience. Since they live almost a county away (Michigan to Washington state) I don't get the everyday hands on but she is so special and so loved. Might be good that I am a little ways away.....could do that spoil thing real easy.

OK, I have tried this blogger thing....someday I will put pics of some of my cross count projects on in case anyone is interested. Thanks for the understanding and patience as I try this new endevor.
